Breast Augmentation Surgery On The Increase
A recent report from the US based Freedonia Group has predicted that the number of cosmetic surgery procedures will exceed 18m by the end of 2012, with demand for cosmetic surgery products averaging annual growth levels of 8.4% for the next four years.
According to the group, a large percentage of the growth in cosmetic surgery procedures can be attributed to the growth in the number of breast augmentation procedures being performed. This is particularly relevant given the recent return of the silicone filled breast implants, which were initialled banned by the FDA in the early 1990’s.

Cosmetic Surgery Patients Getting Older
In 2007 the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery conducted its 'Procedural Survey'. Data from a five year survey shows that the average age of cosmetic surgery patients undergoing one of the ten most popular invasive surgeries has risen by approximately three years to slightly above 42. Interestingly the average age for patients undergoing non invasive procedures is also a smidge above 42.

55,000,000 Cosmetic surgery procedures each year by 2015
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons' in house medical journal 'Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery' has predicted that by 2015 there will be more than 55 million cosmetic surgery procedures performed each year. Just what is Blepharoplasty?
